your beech has suffered from drought stress and evidence of possible cracks, and bacterial slime flux long since dried to a grey. root damage and drought induced, white fluff cryptococcus fagisuga also a sign of stress. All common problems on an aging or stressed beech, one thing leads to another, but strips of cambium dying after drought and subsequent strip cankers due to the aeration of wood.
