I know it's oak but wont it rot above the waterline?

Thanks guys and that's a good 1 norfolkngood I'm not sure on that the reason I've put it in the water is because the base was splitting quite badly as it dryed out. Its gt shake so not expecting it to last 4 ever any way. The wood hasn't gt any fungi ( yet) and fungi cant attact in water due to the lack of oxegen?ive also treated it with linseed oil

I'm no expert Chris TBH. All I had to compare it with was some of the old Norfolk wherrys that were sunk on the broads during the war to stop Gerry landing sea planes .......... anyway........... anything below water level and especially in the mud was fine anything above rotted.
