Hi i'm new to the forum and have what is probably a stupid question. Is it possible to replicate "Bone Oak" by drying fresh green oak over a long period or is only a process that occurs naturally when the dead branches are still attached to a living tree? Any help and advice would be much appreciated!!

Its the sunshine that bleaches the wood. So it will need to be outside and off the ground so that it will dry quickly. Also you will need to remove the cambium layer to speed things up.

I'm guessing that this is not a quick process! would leaving it in a greenhouse over the summer speed the process up or is it just a question of finding it naturally?

Thanks for your quick response by the way
