A bit concerned about the look of the unions on this large willow. Doesn't look to be badly included but I do have a few concerns given the fact that it is over a major road. Any thoughts or experiences with this type of union would be appreciated.

i personaly think you are rite to be concerned i have seen a few willows with big branches split off before now especialy if they are in leaf i dont know how big this one is but i would consider a pollard to reduce stresses

a whole tree pic and one of opposite side would be good to see.

 

very bad fork; probe with a thin but long instrument if you want to know how bad.
