Did they come up from down south and service it for you ? It def had the hydraulic package as I asked him to remove the log loader but asked if it still had the clamps and roller. Disappointing to hear there back up service isn't great!! Typical I had almost made my decision . Bit of a minefield trying to get the right machine .its never going to be our main focus of work but something I'd like to start and use for the decent timber we come across. I'm sure there are loads of tree surgeons in the same boat. I was looking at a Hudson 236 to start with due to there price , but no hydraulics means a lot of man handling .

Cheers

You are correct - on closer inspection there are hydraulic rollers and a clamp.

I had the Woodmizer rep for the Northwest (Martin Phillips) service it. Very nice chap and did a good job.

My best advice would be to start with a non hydraulic mill first to establish your market. Once you've done that, invest in a more expensive mill. You will already know what you do and don't want from your experience with the cheaper saw.

Well I'm certainly open to offers! I would need to sort the LM2 on my end though. I have no experience with the Hudson Mills.

Clive - I'm sure that they could do something on two mills.... :thumbup1:

Has anyone seen an LM2 in operation or aware of any in the UK. Looks the business on youtube but the lack of a potential UK assistance should things go awry is a little offputing, but then again at almost half the price of the equivalent mizer it does sound good value..anyone have an idea what shipping cost might be from the US?

You've got me thinking again about the Logmaster! Price for the LM2 (21ft 6" x 36 inch log capacity - same diameter and 1ft long than the Woodmizer) with 38hp Kohler Petrol (diesel is a $5500 option) and hydraulic debarker is only £16600 plus delivery and import taxes (about 1.5%). I reckon I could almost sell my Woodmizer and buy that without incurring extra cost.

The thought of a nice new mill without a single electric motor (all hydraulic) is very tempting.

LM2 Mill $25,725 + De barker $2,850 + Shipping and Insurance $4,150= $32,725 or approx £20,842 plus VAT of course, according to HMRC this is zero rated for import duty?? I would need to clarify this though!

Jonathan, if your serious about ordering one drop me a pm, i dont know how many you can get in a shipping container but we might be able to save a few quid!
