Sachs Dolmar 116si: parts and ore?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Long-time lurker, first-time poster here...

I've recently acquired a Sachs Dolmar 116si, in good shape for its vintage and for a god price. I know these are generally well regarded, but am keen to glean any knowledge that I can of there quirks, common faults etc.

In the same vein, whilst I hope I've bought a good 'un, I'll probably try to future proof myself by putting together a decent set of spares, as and when I find them. So, any tips on where to get them, new or used? And leading on from the common faults query, any tips on parts worth stockpiling?!

And finally, a long shot! Has anyone retro-fitted a heated handle kit to such a saw? I'm not going to bust a gut to do that, but if I came across the bits for a cheap price, or found a donor saw, it may be fun to give it a shot!

Cheers,

Lawrence

Ebay is the best bet for parts!

If you are interested, I have a runner that either needs TLC or stripping for spares, I purchased it to do up and sell but that is a distant dream:blushing::001_rolleyes:

PM me if you want a price on it and a few pics!
