Buying small amounts of unseasoned wood Fife.

My first post - so sorry if the wrong place or covered elsewhere.

I got a stove installed last year - and have been buying kiln dried logs and mixing it with some i have chopped myself from a friends tree which came down in a storm a few years back.

Since i have a small petrol chainsaw (16") and a small 6 ton electric splitter - i would like to keep sourcing my own wood - have enough space to season it for a couple of years. Quite enjoy it as a hobby.

Would not be selling - 100% home use - so don't need huge amounts.

I have looked on the forum - and it appears people are selling "unseasoned" wood - but by the lorry load - i doubt i need that much.

Could anyone advise where you buy a couple of tons of wood - in a size i could move about and saw myself. Maybe 5-10 tons?

Not sure who you contact - how much you pay, etc.

On another note - do you save any money doing it yourself for such low volumes.

I saw a similar question asking where to source wood in fife (dunfermline) - not sure if it is bad form to jump onto other people's posts.

Would also need delivered - only have an estate car.

Thanks

If you are anywhere near Norfolk I would be very happy to help you with a quantity of seasoned ash, birch and alder all in 4' lengths.
