I've been climbing for a bit longer than you have, have got the same nptcs, team leader of a crew of myself and 2 others (my responsibilities end there really.. I can quote but it's almost always down to my boss) I'm on the books, work base in Berkshire, 28 days holiday a year for £500 a week before tax.

I'm very happy with this :thumbup1: ... For now

hi guys thanks for your replies, im based in rutland/leicstershire, i have a full climbing kit with spikes but use the companies saws. i am fairly confident that my climbing is at a good standard and i have done some large take downs to small reductions and usually get the jobs completed within the time on the job sheets. i get sent out as 'the climber' with a groundie, so the people i work for must be confident in my work and ability to run the job. the compines i work for are either aa approved or registered with isa, often working in the public eye for example burgley estate, local authorities and large houses. i also work out of platforms under qualified supervision as i dont hold the ticket yet. my licence is just the normal baby licence but i do drive and tow the 150. i mean i say i have 2 years experience but iv been working in the industry for 5 years now as i worked all the hours i could whilst at collage for 3 years aswell. at present im charging £80 a day and i just feel maybe im worth a little more which would enable me to invest in some more training and kit ??? or am i being greedy ???

for the price you are asking i would expect you to have your own saws .

climbing saw at least. For the amount of experience you have it sounds too high a price:(

i would go in at about 90 a day and get as much experience as possible, build up a good rep then put price up to a premium.

I personally wouldn't pay someone £120 a day without them been seriously set up with kit and experience. :)

I come with 3 saws, 020T, 026 and a 395XP husqy, big lowering kit, and 20+ years experience.

£120 is a mid range figure to work from, some people pay me more depending on the job, some people pay me less if they guarantee me regular work.

I'd not try to be too greedy to start with, there's lot's and lot's more lads out there who can fill your space in the employers eye's, and unless you're, to coin a phrase, "**** hot" you won't be able to command top dollar unfortunately.

Good luck with it, but competition is only getting stronger mate. Add as many strings to your bow as you can.
