Sweet chesnut stakes

We have some sweet chesnut to coppice in the near future and i am considering make some of the better stuff into stakes is it best to peel these or leave the bark on ?

As said peeling is better as they will last longer. If its summer cut the bark will naturally fall off in time but the stakes won't last as long and will be prone to splitting while hit staples in etc.

As also said there's little money in stakes unless your doing bulk loads to places where there's little chestnut ie up north. Down here everyone seems to be doing stakes thinking its great monney but really it's driving the price down to a point where it's not worth it.

Pointing and peeling a stake is worth more but obviously is more monney.
