The neighbouring farmers used to get annoyed with Linda because none of her tup lambs were ever castrated and none of the fences were in very good condition.... (need I say more)

Yes, Arran is on the Gulf Stream and enjoys a relatively mild climate.

Dont bother trying to chip palm trees, tried it gave up. ( Argyll is a gem, I lived in Lochgilphead and Achnamara for 15 months, Its the only place to live in I would leave Dorset for.)
