I haven't put a new carb kit or carb on the saw, its still running original parts as far as i know.

I think this is a little beyond my technical ability though! going to take it up to Abbey garden and machinery in Plymouth and see if I should cut my losses and try to resell it.

I have exactly the same model with exactly the same problem. When left for a length of time it takes ages to start. Recently had it serviced and came back A1. Left it over winter without using and tried to start it the other day, now i have one arm that looks like popeyes and the other looks like Mr Beans .

 

Must have took 15 mins of pulling to get it started but once it got running it was bang on and now starts within a few pulls.
