BRE test?

Hi all, off to look at a 5837 job tomorrow and the client has said the lpa want a BRE test due to a neighbours objection to the planning app. I've never heard of it! From what I can gather it's regarding the right to light, and I think it is not a job for an arb. I will call and speak with the la before site visit but wondered if anybody here could shed some light? Thanks

Have a read here BRE Daylight and Sunlight Tests. Definitely not your job, and you need to be able to measure light hitting windows. I should think a neighbour is concerned that the development will reduce their daylight. Any such impact is only deemed significant if daylight is reduce to less than 27% and is reduced to less than 0.8 times its former value.
