No worries, I appreciate your input! The search terms for google are changeable, as are the site's details on google places.

 

Also I would expect the person to take up the website to want to change and modify the content to what they want.

Let me know if I'm teaching granny to suck eggs but the way a site obtains good google rankings is by its content and word density. Keywords and search terms are not recognized by google. Therefore if you change it's content it will loose any ranking it has now (which is very little) and will take weeks/months to propogate and be recognised throughout the www.

Oh im no expert really, if you're right then i doubt they'd need to completely replace the content, im not sure how much a small change would change the page's relationship with google. It doesn't much matter - the url has been submitted to google and yahoo and so i assume that when someone takes it over to have a "proper go" of it, eventually it'll appear up the rankings. As it is, its second on the list for google places.

 

I'm not trying to make a million here. I just don't want my time and effort to have been in vain when someone else could make it into something better because im doing other things. To be perfectly honest, I would almost give it away (but not quite!) if it would help someone along.

Google ranking is far more dependant on inward links of which you have none so I would place little value on that aspect. If you set up a website about electric wurzel monkies and got it into google by a simple forum / ebay / facebook campaign you would probably be number 1 for 'electric wurzel monkies' after a month or 2. Because there is no competition. Try getting it to number 1 for 'monkies' or 'electric' and you may struggle (a little bit).

 

I just thought it was a nice looking site and people will pay for that. If it can be easily altered to another businesse's branding etc. then it just has some basic worth. About the same as getting a web developer to build you a brochure site I suppose.
