Help with Truckman canopy?

I have a Truckman canopy on the back of my pick up and the handle on the top tailgate has gone kaput today!! It normally turned through 90 degrees to open/close but now when it turns, the bolts don't come out of the side to engage in the canopy. Hopefully just something come loose.

Anybody had this happen before? How much of the tailgate to you have to take to bits to rectify?

Any ideas gratefully received.

If its similar to mine there are 2 screws fastening the handle on, which you access from inside, they are under rubber plugs. You should be able to take these out and remove handle which engages bolt mechanism via a 'square' stub, as in a normal door handle. You can buy new ones from Truckman if its brokken'.
