Standing timber

Hi, can anyone give me a rough idea of the price of standing timber. I am assuming good access etc. Hard and soft wood prices please. It obviously costs me money to harvest and I would be doing it manually and not with a harvester etc. What should I be paying?

It dosen't really work like that mate..

 

If you are pricing a standing sale, you need to look at what produce you'll cut from it, then work out what your costs are for harvesting and extraction.

 

Take the sale price at roadside for whatever product you will produce and work back from there taking of your costs, then take off your margin, then you are left with your standing sale price/offer.

 

It can vary wildly from site to site, which is why it's best to work out each site individually.

Thanks! was thinking down those lines, not sure its worth the effort as some of the coupes are Hazel! It will probably cost me more in labour! Certainly out of my comfort zone pricing this.
