We have been asked to quote for softwood logs in nets, our nets are 800 x 450 so what would be a sensible fair price to ask for these, had a trawl round but the opinions seem to vary so lets go.............what do the experts think??

Thanks :biggrin::biggrin:

Depends how rammed full the sacks are.

I sell hardwood in that size sack for £5 collected. Softwood for no less than £4. In both cases sacks are full to bursting. These are retail prices.

Have seen competitors bags the same size for 4.50 & 3.50 respectively but they always look half empty.

For wholesale i would only take £1 off my retail price. Any less than that is imo suicide. Cost of cordwood, transport &kit is all heading northwards. These costs have to recovered.

I'm based in aberdeenshire.

Thanks for the reply mate, yeah I kind of figured around £3.20 for the softwood. We fill them full up as well. They are for a garage so they will leave a fair markup for them looking at the prices they are charging for the nets with 6 small logs in at £4.50.

Amazing that people buy these when there are people doing far better value for money, convenience I guess!!

Thanks for the reply...
