typical softwood specs

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Starting in a block of decent Scots tomorrow and should be a good mix of sawlogs and firewood. A lot of the sawlogs will be 3.75m but there will be a good amount of 8ft logs also. It's been a while since have done 8fts and can't remember whether we would normally cut at 2.5 or if it was 2.55m. Know it sounds a daft question, but as yet we've not got any orders in for the 8fts so don't have a spec for it yet.

As an aside, whilst a reasonable chunk is already accounted for, there should be odd loads of sawlogs available and also softwood firewood too (up to around 15" TD)
