Hi All,

I know that this may be a daft question for all the woodsman but how do you quantify the amount of wood in a pile of cut logs ? not yet sliced for fire wood

All the logs are approximately 6"- 8" in diameter and approximately 8` in length and stacked in a pile

I can remember from school days (long time ago) LxBxH etc but is there a rule of thumb for measuring wood stacked in a pile, or does the same apply.

Do you measure one and then take an average??

Also when logs are sliced & split how is that quantified ie by the bag etc

Cheers,

Lindz
