It worth a fair bit if you want to peel the bark sit on it fir two years then plank it store it and try find a seller , or you could just sell it to me :)

 

What is the benefit of peeling the bark off before storage.

I'd plank it while wet, to reduce the cracking of the timber, due to the different shrinkage rate perpendicular to the grain compared to parallel with the grain.

Without the bark it would dry better and also I prefer to leave it until semi dry as a log befor u plank if you do it when wet you get alot of distortion in the boards , plus leave the logs out side on the ground you start getting black streecks throughout it after an out two years

It wasn't to bad to be honest, would choose it over hawthorn any day. Me £5 pair of thorn resistant gloves from B&Q (am sure other stores sell them aswell lol) did a great job. Yeah I got a few scratches but now more than a day reducing a conifer hedge
