Mines a comminuted fracture, have had an operation, nice bit of metal bar hammered in through my tib, goes all the way from my knee to my ankle and is held in place by 4 screws, two at each end. Apparently don't need a cast, they have given me something called a moon boot, padded boot with loads of velcro straps, to wear when i'm moving about on crutches.

Doing a fair bit of reading but I'm going to have to get my self the documentary channel as getting pretty bored of freeview already haha.

Had a look at your picks, horse logging looks good, what sort of weight can a horse drag on relatively flat ground?

Will the metal stay in? If I'd had known how long recovery was I've had opted for the X fix.

A good horse should be able to pull it,s own weight on level ground, but only for short distances at a time. My mare, weighs about 750kg, she will pull 2 ton quite comfortably on her own in the forwarder, add 750kg for the forwarder weight. On a good downhill skid she will shift the same sort of weight with ease.
