Nice looking saw Spud, the jonsered bar looks pretty smart! the chain brake handle on mine seems to be made of metal pipe, Is this just becaUSE OLD PLASTIC COVERING IT HAS FALLEN OF OR IS JUST AN OLDER MODEL? also the whole chain brake mechanism and cover could do with replacing, would a husky one fit? and if so what model? Will get some photos up when i get the chance. thanks

Fitted am 18 inch bar and chain today, gave it a good old clean and its running like a dream, chain brake needs some tlc, seems pretty tired and is not much use at all but all in all not bad for a free saw! Many thanks for replies jago

Just been given an old jonsered saw, was wondering if anybody knows the specs? Its been sitting in a shed for a long time but started after a dozen pulls. Its got no bar or chain so just wondering if its worth making the investment and buy a shiny new bar and chain or if its a rubish saw not to bother, also what size bar would i be able to run it with, any info much appreciated Jago

I've done a couple of cork harvests in southern spain, all done by axe, you'll have very black hands for a couple of weeks from the sap! good fun but really hot as you harvest at the begining of the summer while the sap is rising. lunch break of iberian ham was pretty good to

Mines a comminuted fracture, have had an operation, nice bit of metal bar hammered in through my tib, goes all the way from my knee to my ankle and is held in place by 4 screws, two at each end. Apparently don't need a cast, they have given me something called a moon boot, padded boot with loads of velcro straps, to wear when i'm moving about on crutches. Doing a fair bit of reading but I'm going to have to get my self the documentary channel as getting pretty bored of freeview already haha. Had a look at your picks, horse logging looks good, what sort of weight can a horse drag on relatively flat ground?

Alright cousin jack? What bones did you break? I'm on the other side of this, broke my tib and fib 2 and half weeks ago, supposed to be out of action for between 3 to 6 months and I'm already going slightly mental, any tips to keep my sanity? Hope you get up to fighting form soon. all the best jago

Thanks for the advice. Have looked at all the suggestions now just got to talk to the docs to c how long they think I'll be of the leg. Cabin fever is starting to hit home specially as the weather is so dam good at the moment! thanks again and I'll let you know how I get on jago

Last week I broke my leg, not at work mind, but I'm going to be of it for 3 to 6 months. I thought I might as well make the most of it and try and get some knowledge on tree health care, diseases ect and if possible get some theory based qualifications. My question is are there any courses out there that I could do online or learning from home? Many thanks in advance jago:thumbup1:
