Hi all, I'm a newbie to this site but find my self addicted already! The wealth of knowledge on here is incredible. Was just wondering when u lot use spikes to climb does this harm the tree in anyway? Also I'm looking to build up my own equipment as I go along an didn't know if any1 knows of any1 selling a pair? Thanks in advance!

Hi, Spikes should only be used when the tree is being removed or in rescue situations, as damage to the tree will create an entry point for infection.

 

Spikes are quite often found on ebay, but someone here may well be selling some.
