hi there, i am also a scouter, which jamboree were you at?? i spent last weekend at poacher near lincoln and met another arb type but didnt ask if he came on here.

I was on the Essex International, on Bog Squad! :ohmy:

 

Had a few friends on Poacher doing the entertainment.

Is there a lot of red tape now? I'd heard they'd stopped Troops from using what was our local scout camp (Kirkdale) as it had no flushing toilets - we used to camp there loads and it never did us any harm.

 

It depends on what sort of camping permit the leader holds.

There are a lot of leaders now that really haven't got a clue about camping or the outdoors to be honest. So the result is a 3 tier permit system.

The best being green fields, you can camp any where you like basically.

 

So yes the level of red tape has gone up. :sad:
