i bought this husky i think as a bet, as i always buy stihl, and must of had a brain storm to buy husky junk.

the oiler keeps packing in.

ive had it apart 3 times (which takes a while ) cleaned the oiler, new plastic drive gear etc but nearly instantly it stops oiling the chain and plastic drive gear is knackered......

any suggestions before i put it on the next bonfire and laugh as it burns and melts slowly

You will find that someone has fully undone the adjuster and then done it up without pushing the oil pump gear shaft in to the pump before doing up the adjuster.

 

This bends the shaft and will strip the pinion (worm drive) in two seconds.

 

You will need to take the pump off and remove the gear shaft (the one the pinion drives), get it on a flat surface and see if it is bent, if it is, you can straighten them but it isn't easy.

 

This is one of the weak points of the saw - otherwise they can be little belters.

PS - don't knock Huskys - they are good machines and in my experience it is misuse and lack of maintenance that kills them!

when i get a free day ill take it to bits................... again.

to be honest it runs like a dream and starts no matter what abuse i give it. still prefer stihl for working on though.

just noticed your bit on the bottom about spares.

got an stihl 020. needing full chainbreak side of saw, including chainbreak handle, bar and chain.

would do you a part ex if your interested. got various 338's and other stihl top handled parts

Been out of the country so sorry for the late answer - it depends on what you want and what you have to offer in parts - the side covers for these saws are like gold dust - you can get new spares but the whole assembly would be expensive.
