Hi All,

Was out felling a couple of easy trees today and the saw was running fine but then we had a cup of tea. then returned to the saw and she just wasnt starting so took the plug out to see if she was sparking and she wasnt so changed the plug and that didnt work either. Now i am presuming it's the igntion coil that has packed up but was jut wondering if any one else has had this problem and it turned out to be something else? As i said it's a stihl 046.

many thanks

Buster

046 is a great saw and well worth repairing, as long as the rest of it snt on its last legs.:thumbup1:

Try removing the wire from the ignition coil which is the cut out then give it a try. Note though just test to see if it sparks,if you try and succeed in firing the saw up you wont be able to turn it off by the switch.
