i was originaly looking for a 4 inch entec first chipper as well but endend up with the larger 6inch diesel model, fantastic machine, serviced it, new blades lick of paint and she does me well!!

If you have the money and the space to keep a bigger machine I would go for at least 5" or 6" Machine. Unless of coarse you only need the machine for use in back gardens

 

I have the Entec 5" chipit 18hp and it has served me well for 3 years now

The entec is nothing compared to me tw150 but was my first and still useful on hard wood and is so light it is really handy on steep sites.
