Hi,

Excellent site, hope you can help.

Looking for a log supplier for the West of Scotland, Dumbarton / Helensburgh area.

Also, looking for a recommendation for an entry level chainsaw.

Cheers

Cheers, local shop trying to sell me a Mitox 4116 Chainsaw. Anyone got any experience of this?

Just need it for cutting logs for firewood, nothing fancy but want something that'll last.

Do you want wood to cut up to make your own logs? Or a supply of ready to burn logs just now? There is a member on here called Carver, he is from Helensburgh, he isnt on that often but he does sell logs, i also have a friend with a farm out side Helensburgh that you could buy Larger lengths from. If you need either you can contact me, my details are on my website below:001_smile:

Stihl MS181 - nice little saw with excellent anti vibration and barely sips the fuel. Be careful with some of the slightly bigger domestic Stihls as the vibes are terrible.

Thanks Guy's, great advice.

I've a Stihl petrol strimmer which has never given me any problems, so I'll probably go for small Stihl, Cheers.

Logs - need a decent supply of split logs til the new year when I should have my new chainsaw and be able to chop my own. Got a builders bag full recently, not sure if his name was Carver (only got his first name - Charles) £50 and barely lasted the week.

Thanks Big J,

Got the MS181 and really pleased with it. Ideal for what I wanted, very light and easy to handle.

Cheers.
