we first used wood most of the time but dads started buying more anthracite buys it in the summer stores it on the pallets in bags on the farm and brings it home as we need it and then we have a log shed i built in the garden to. you could run it on wood all the time but you'd need alot but if you have a good supply due to work then it could be done. we haven't got a back up boiler so totally gas free and are thinking the next step will be solar panels to get hot water in the summer without the emersion heater. odd days its cooler the wamsler gets lit up though
