I was to tell the truth but I think there a little past the sell buy date, the seemed quite leathery or woody even so I was thinking of either chopping a slice off for the garden or just waiting for next year. It's a pity I didn't get in there a little earlier they look yummy

We pollard/mono'd this Beech last week.

 

One of the guys took half of these for the pot, they were maybe two/three weeks old at the time.

 

He said the the stalks were a bit leathery/woody

 

But were a fine feast, in amongst chicken, garlic pasta.
