I am completely inspired to do it especially by little tree its nice to hear from somebody who is actually in that situation ,I guess another question i should ask is what sort of living could i make from doing it would it depend on what contracts and stuff i manage to get ?also how long would it take to do my tickets?and what ones are there somebody i spoke to yesterday mentioned there are different ones like climbing etc but im not sure how correct they are also are there many jobs in this line of work out there?just wondering how i would go about getting employed by somebody i could learn more from and gain more experience .thanks all

If i were you I would grab the yellow pages and start ringing round tree firms in your area to gain some work experience. There are endless tickets out there but the vital ones are CS30/31/38/39 if you wish to become a climber.

Check your local colleges for the short courses available work experience in the field are a definate advantage for these as they tend to be intensive as a beginner.

Another option is a 1yr Nch Arb course that doesn't only give you the information and training for your NPTC tickets (tho u'll have to stump up the cash to pay for the assessments urself) but an insite into weeds pests diseases, growth patterns, surveying amongst other valuable modules. That coupled with work experience, which I know believe is 160hrs mandatory, the right attitude and plenty of recreational climbing practise you could have a really strong foundation for a career in Arb in under a year.
