Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knew the rules on using a hoist?

I know when I took my CS 30 - 39 you were allowed to undertake the work under the supervision of someone who already has the ticket if you hadnt passed yours yet (in order of CS's).

I was wondering if you could use a landy hoist under the supervision of somone competent who has the ticket if you dont yet have one??:confused1:

Cheers for any replys:thumbup:

Hi all,

:

By hoist, I take it you mean a MEWP. If on your own IPAF is easy to pass and lasts 5 years. This will cover you to take someone up with you as long as you are within the swl. Typically 200kgs (2 men). The MEWP must be loler tested every 6 months and you must wear a harness attached to to the anchor point. You should have someone on the ground who knows the take down procedure in an emergency too.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. by hoist I meant MEWP yea,

What I was really after was whether I was allowed in the bucket (if I didnt have a ticket) on my own with a compent person on the ground with his Ticket and of course who would know the takedown procedure?

As I said before this apply's to some chainsaw tickets so is it the same with this?

Thanks
