Work in The Scottish Borders

Hi fellas, hoping to move up to a place near Hawick soon and was wondering what the opportunities for Tree Surgeons are like in the area. At the moment I run my own business in Dorset carrying out all aspects of tree work as well as hedging & grass/brush cutting and I also sell logs, but I am thinking about possibly getting back into Forestry work if general tree work is in short supply. Now I don't intend to tread on anyone's toes up there so please be as honest as you can and obviously if anyone up that way has a bit of work they need a hand with don't hesitate to contact me.

Cheers Guys

I'm about 50 miles from Hawick on the eastern side, there are some firms in the area I beleive but it is a very sparsely populated part of the world, ie not many customers. There will be some forestry work going on out that way however. If you are wanting a better chance of regular subby work I'd move a little further north, closer to edinburgh. Even then things are a little quiet at the moment. I occasionaly use subbys but only as groundies and I dont pay them that much as there are a lot of them about at the moment.

Find some reliable work before you take the leap and move up here would be my advice.:001_smile:
