Libertella faginea

Hosted on the underside of a felled Beech top these tiny orange strands took some time to id, not in any book ive got so trawled the web and ended up back here, what a fine resource this site is :thumbup1:. Seems like its Libertella faginea the asexual state of an ascomycete fungus.

The top and sides of the stem had Nectria coccinea present.

The remaining stem with some infestation of beech scale insect Cryptococcus fagisuga.
