LPG in Discovery's

Has anyone any advice as to whether an LPG conversion in a Land Rover Discovery is a viable option to run a rural vehicle. Is it possible to run it from the storage tank we have at the household with some modification.

Any help would be grateful

I have a 3.9V8i already fitted with LPG. Runs fine and was great off road.

I would replace the orginal fuel tank with a LPG tank and then have a small petrol tank in the wing. which saves you the load space. However i brought one which already has the tank in the load space which i'm saving up to remove.

Not sure about LPG in a storage tank, so can't help you there.

it all depends on what you pay for the lpg. if you pay the same tax thats fine but bulk fuel is usually cheaper than road fuel so if your caught by the inland rev your in trouble. i ave got a v8 converted to lpg that has failed its mot. it has got a 100ltr tank in the back which holds 80 ltrs of gas. when running it was bril, on av it did 24mpg urban and 30mpg on a run

dont think its possible unless you have an old tank at home as there needs to be a take off point on the bottom of the tank to get the liquid. if you do you can buy both hand and electric pumps to transfer it. wouldnt worry bout customs its not like they can dip the tank!!

faling that unless youve got a lpg garage close by i wouldnt bother its a bit of a ball ache when theres one close by!
