It should offer to search for a filter on the internet, if it hasn't got access to one already.

thankyou, i understand, but it doesnt offer the internet search, and scrolling down i cant see microsoft office, which is where i originally made the document

 

theres a reason i like petrol, its simpler!

On mine all my old files work, you could try right clicking the file and then select open with open office and see if it works that way round
