virtual office services

hi guys i am starting a new venture and am looking at how i can provide contact details for what is essentially going to be just myself for the first couple of months, before an anticipated rapid expansion at the start of next year.

two things i need are a postal address and a telephone number.

i have decided to go for a po box address as it is the easiest option as there are no 'virtual offices' near me so it would seem silly to have an address miles away from where i actually am. i dont have any office facilities at my yard so using that as an address is also out of the question.

secondly, i need a phone number. now at the moment its just me and my mobile number, but i dont like putting a mobile number as the main business contact. its something i have never liked the look of.

i have looked at getting another line put into the house but because i will often be on site i would have to set up call forwarding, which looks like it could end up being expensive as i would have to pay for all calls.

i also looked at things like ereceptionist.co.uk but again i think that could prove costly and i also thought of getting an 0845 number and forwarding that to the mobile but again, costly.

it seems daft i know, but the main reason i dont want to have just the mobile number is because in six months time we will be looking to take on more staff that will need to be contactable and possibly get an office set up at the yard.

has anybody been in this situation before or can you suggest any other virtual office type services that could possibly help me get off the ground and establish my new venture in the best light

cheers

I know I stuffed up doing this. I set up at 0870 number as I wanted to be non-geographic and had it diverted. Fine till the provider started messing me about and I told them where to go with the number.

I your going to do it in the future I would say just bite the bullet and get the office set up at the yard now.

have a chat with bt, and see what telephone answering service they can provide, or look around and see who will work to a scripted response, that will be read out by an operator, stating that you are out of the office on site and can they take a message,

they then text you the message and you reply

in your time already
