Stressed tree reduction

I've got a job in the works that has a sycamore that is stressed (pointed out by Hama in my picture thread the other week). It wants a 10% reduction, deadwood removal and a root feed. What would be the bees practice during the reduction and deadwooding?

 

I don't want to induce further stress to the tree but also I'm struggling to judge how much deadwood I need to take out as some tips are dying back but still have little leaf area.

 

 

Help would be appreciated!
