Hi all, I'm new to the Forum . Just wondering if anyone can help? I've been given my father-in-laws petrol chipper. It's a Garden Master, model GMS5 with Honda GX160 engine. There's one identical to mine on Ebay right now. I've had the blades professionally sharpened but it still struggles to chip branches 1" thick. The engine usually cuts out or slows right down. Can I get a more powerful Honda engine that would fit straight on? Does anyone know who is behind the Garden master brand so I can obtain spare parts? 1 last question: Does the GX160 engine have 2 oil filler spouts? My chipper has 2 oil filler necks.

Any help is much appreciated.

Many thanks, Jon-Paul Clarey.

hi, the honda gx160 has 2 oill filler necks to suit different engine applictions so just use the easyist to get at. loss of power could be due to wrong sparkplug/gap,old stale petrol, dirt in carb,or carb needs alittle tune/adjustment,also make sure engine is reaching full revs..ie flat out!
