Hello all, just signed up to this as i've read through pages and pages of this forum (addicted to sticks?) and since purchasing a husky 240se need to know something. I know some older chainsaws need a thicker fuel mix but have no idea what the ratio should be for the 240, anyone know, or can give me some advice? Cheers

I used one of these a little while ago when messing about on a mates farm.

Not sure as to what is should have, but it got run on a 50:1 mix, same as everything else (well, its not THAT old is it).

As you may well know 50:1 is 5 litre of petrol, mixed 100ml of 2 stroke oil (but be aware that the oil needs to be the stuff intended to be used at 50:1, not 25:1, 20:1 etc, etc)

Clear as mud.

Hope it helps.

thanks for the replies, i've got it on a thicker mix and thats probably why theres blueish smoke coming out of the exhaust will change it to the 50:1 mix and see what happens.. only paid £60 for it and got 2 free chains fair price??
