The Arboricultural Association will be offering special discounts on new memberships at this year’s Arb Show, and anyone joining the Association at the show will have their entry ticket refunded. They will also be providing technical advice on a range of arb issues, and advising visitors on training, certification and career progression, as well as information on

accreditation for arboriculture companies, including the Arboricultural Association’s Approved Contractor Scheme.

 

A wide range of the Association’s publications and guides will be available and the Association will be offering visitors a free copy of their new members’ publication : The ARB Magazine.

The UK's Only Tree Friendly Foundation System. Abbey Pynford design and construct the only 'Tree Friendly' foundation system in the UK called Housedeck. It allows you to build beside trees without causing any short or long term damage to either the tree or its roots.

A combination of lightweight rigs and pile relocation ensure the integrity ofthe roots during construction. Abbey Pynford are giving Arb Show visitors the opportunity to see elements of Housedeck 'upclose'. This will include an example of a piling rig that is typically used on site with trees.

In the run-up to its launch of the new Yale rope at this year’s Arb Show, Fletcher Stewart are giving customers the opportunity to name it! The competition is being promoted across Internet forums, and the person with the winning entry will win two hanks of the new rope.

 

The “Rope with no name” is a new CE rated 12mm 24-strand climbing line from YALE CORDAGE, based on a similar manufacturing process, construction to Yale’s popular 11.7mm American standard Blue Moon line. Yale’s new rope gives climbers all the advantages and characteristics of a lightweight 11.7mm rope along with the feel of a 13mm rope. The new rope will be released for sale at the Arb Show and there will be a limited number of hanks available from attending Fletcher Stewart retailers and

demonstration packs available to view on the Fletcher Stewart stand.

 

Among the practical demonstrations taking place at the Show, Fletcher Stewart are supporting several bite size demonstrations regarding the safe matching and use of rigging equipment and rigging ropes along with talks and demonstrations regarding the correct use of the Air Spade in arboricultural practice.

New products appearing include no less than three new chain saws, and STIHL will unveil its very latest professional model at the show. Demonstrations in STIHL’s woodland edge area, are by Canopy Access Limited – an organisation providing safety at height services for those wishing to access the rainforest canopy, and from fields as diverse as science, exploration, tourism and film-making. The rainforest canopy is an extremely dynamic and physically demanding environment, and thus techniques used by the Canopy Access team are derived from caving, arboriculture and industrial disciplines. Their demonstrations promise a fascinating and thoughtprovoking insight into the giants of the rainforest and the techniques used in tackling them.
