Hi,

Got the above saw in for repair, big heavy old thing. I need to replace the gaskets in the carb, the carb that is fitted is a Tillotson HL121B.

Have been in touch with Tillotson and they claim it is the wrong carb for the saw.

Wondered if anyone could shed any light, is this the wrong carb? I will probably stick with this carb on the saw as it was working OK in the past, just all the gaskets have dried out.

Stihl 07 1961-1965 used a few different carbs

Tillotson HL121A, B, HL-147B, HL-155A series

So your 121B is more than likely the original fitted carb.

You can download the HL carb diagram and setup instructions from the tillotson website and theres plenty of carb kits for sale on ebay etc.

I'd recommend you go with the full kit as it has the needle and seat included in it. The smaller kit only has the gaskets and diaphragm. Dont fiddle with the welch plug if at all possible.
