Hi all - I'm looking for a useable set of second hand spikes to buy in the UK.  Based near Melksham (Wiltshire) but can arrange postage. If anyone has anything they are wanting to part with, let me know. Ta

When I bought them I did intend to replace the slower straps, but they are good enough

Look on YT how to sharpen spikes properly and.give them a light tickle.

 

Got mine very sharp and its a pleasure using them.

 

Before I had only used old worn out Distels, a Tree hog and some leather topped things, in the few teams I worked with. That gave me a real dislike of spiking..

Jeezy peeps, things are getting bad when people have to buy clones of Botch kit.

 

@africanarborist I'd just keep an eye out on eBay and FB marketplace for a decent second hand pair. No, they're not Category III PPE, but you don't want some shonky pair from Amazon failing at a crucial moment.

Thanks all for the feedback. Looked at the cheapies on Amazon, but not overly enthused. Have found a very good second hand pair from someone selling their business. All sorted for now until I head back to Africa to recover all my gear!  Cheers
