As i have "custom" made hedge of mostly black locust, with lots of 6-12mm hedge- shrub branches. And black locust is harder wood. I imagine i will have better run at speed one or two.

 

In terms of battery, i wish i had smaller one. 5Ah will be hard to drain.

My other option which i passed was Stihl HSA 60 with battery and charger for less money than Makita solo tool. HSA 60 felt solidly made and has good balance as well. But i had to pick one.

 

Makita hedge trimmer feels well  balanced when holding it. Has 3 speeds.

Runs smooth on empty. Probably will be using it on speed 1 or 2.
