In response to a few questions comments that have come up on the Arb Surplus chat.

I (Jonesie: Justin) sold the business in 2017 to an investment group, to allow my dad to retire and financial security for my family. I managed it for them for a few years until they brought someone in to try and grow it to what I believed was not realistic they did everything I told them not to from 2020 and went through several CEOs during the process.

At that point I should have walked away but tried and failed at trying to encourage them to turn it round and go back to what we did best, there were people in the business now sitting above me making wrong decisions daily.
Trust me I fought it, as I still had a personal investment in the company but not big enough to make a difference in decisions.
The thing that kept me there was the staff, family, customers and an industry I love.

There is a lot more into what happened at the end, but I honestly can’t say for legal reason as I’m still fighting it. All I can say is I did try and fight for the customers to the point of being threatened to be arrested and removed from the premises.
It put me in a very bad place for while – but I’m now out the other side of that with a different outlook on life.

I’m now doing a few hours a week for Arb Surplus, it reminds me of the old days of a small growing business like FRJ was in the early days and enjoying seeing it grow in a controlled manner.

I appreciate that there are people out there that will have been caught up in it all and suffered, I can only apologise again as I did at the time. No one should have lost any money as I was assured by the Administrators, they everyone could claim their money back. (apart from me)
