hi i have been trying to splice new england 16 strand climbing rope as per samson rope instructions off the net and am have trouble getting the core through the rope. i understand its difficult but this seems impossible. any hints or ideas would be great, thanks carl.p.s great forum, lots of knowledge and skill.

i did look at the new england instuctions but they looked kinda the same. i have i peice of piano wire doubled up as a wand, not sure if its the same as the one you mentioned. thanks carl

managed to do a splice eventully. the instructions said to taper the core and the other bit indise the cross over (about 6.5 inchs) but didnit explain how ,is there a set way of doing this? thanks carl
