Bearcat Woodchipper/shredder Question

  1.  Could anyone help ?.
  2. I have a 1995 Bearcat Chipper that I think is a 70180.
  3. My question is which way round did the cutters go.?. I have them in the way they were when I bought it, (see middle photo), but some later versions of the same chipper show them reversed.  To my reasoning, how I have them allows the chips to slide into the discharge area easily. If reversed they would tend to go back towards the feed hole.
  4. Any suggestions as to why later versions were fitted in the other way. ?.
  5. It's a good old B@S flat head side valve engine.8hp.
