We are looking for an Apprentice Arborist – (1 post).  This is a fantastic opportunity to join our Environmental Services team. 

This role will be based at our Brunswick, Liverpool Site. Our hours of operation are Monday to Friday. Full time colleagues work 37 hours per week.

What will you be doing?

Working as part of a great team, your focus will be carrying out a wide range of of high quality, practical arboriculture and landscape maintenance operations including aerial tree works to the highest standards of safety and quality, whilst providing excellent customer service.

You will assist with undertaking a wide range of arboricultural operations using associated machinery and equipment as instructed by the Senior Arborist and assist in conducting a comprehensive range of flexible, emergency tree works, and land scheduled tree maintenance, under the direction of the Senior Arborist and Arboriculture Manager.

You will deal with customer enquiries on site including complaints, requests for service and dangerous trees.

You will assist with updating the digital system with basic data as required ensuring all data is accurate and reflective of works undertaken and undertake basic assessment surveys and deliver appropriate reports for tree works.

What are we looking for?

It is essential that you have the following skills in order to deliver a high-quality service 

  • Interest in Arboriculture/Horticulture
  • Confident and competent working at height
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal
  • The ability to demonstrate great teamwork
  • The ability to follow procedures and provide performance data of operations

You will also require a minimum of 4 GCSEs at grade D/3 including maths and English OR a Vocational qualification Level 1 plus GCSE grade D/3 in both Maths and English

You will complete a course of study and will be working towards a Level 2 Arborist Operative apprenticeship with the training provider Myerscough.  You will be taught via block release and 'on the job' learning.
