If there was no exhaust on it when you found it someone has obviously removed it, they have done this because they were looking for the reason why it wouldnt start when warm. More likely than not they have seen a scored piston and then not bothered putting the exhaust back on, left it under the bench for a while, the exhaust has got moved around and lost and the saw has been put out for scrap.

Sorry the exhaust was on just rusted to fooook 🤣🤣🤣
