Delignification

Spotted this cherry a while back, its in a stand of Cherries (prunus avium) they have mostly succumbed to the laetiporus which absolutley love all prunus v, in particular the purple plums like pissardii and aviums.

 

just thought you might enjoy this image, having lost the majority of its lignin the right hand stem has begum to subside and would probably have collapsed had it not leant on its nieghbour for support!
