its pretty simple, pto on, pull the string and it pulls it in but be very carefull where you stand, keep well away from the linkage area and wear gloves when handling the wire, comunication is everything when winching

and make sure the pto is well guarded, that rope can get dropped in there pretty easy, its better for the operator to be in the tractor with the rope, sort out hand signals before you do anything..
